Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Operative to join our team at Gem Partnership Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of customer mailings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Operations
    • Set up production lines in accordance with established timescales.
    • Load stock correctly as per works instructions to facilitate automated enclosing.
    • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure 100% accuracy against customer specifications.
    • Perform end-of-line checks as necessary, including inkjet quality, hex checks, and mail mark barcode integrity.
    • Ensure all quality checks are completed in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Stock Management
    • Pack stock correctly in accordance with work instructions and ticket requirements.
    • Flag any discrepancies immediately.
    • Retrieve and sort stock as per works instructions.
    • Return stock to the backstock area as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping
    • Assist in the repair and/or correction of minor machine breakdowns.
    • Maintain departmental housekeeping to required standards.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
    • Understanding of customer requirements.
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques.
    • Basic technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Good communication skills.

Working Conditions

This role is based in Seaham and involves working a 37.5-hour week on a 3-shift rotation. The shifts are as follows:

  • Days: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Friday, 7:00 am to 12:30 pm.
  • Lates: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, Friday, 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
  • Nights: Sunday, 10:00 pm to 7:00 am, Monday to Thursday, 12:00 am to 7:00 am.
Rate of Pay

The rate of pay for this role is £12.00 per hour for day shift and £12.75 per hour for 3-shift rotation.
