Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Planning. As a key member of our planning organization, you will be responsible for managing inventory at a global level, supporting all Open to Buy (OTB) activities, and ensuring adherence to inventory targets and planning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Own and manage Open to Buy (OTB) and overall group inventory management, by region and globally.
  • Product Margin Targets: Set product margin targets aligned with finance group targets.
  • Inventory Targets and KPIs: Ensure adherence to inventory targets and all planning KPIs.
  • Global Inventory Re-balancing: Responsible for re-balancing global inventory.
  • Delist and Markdown Strategy: Accountable for delist and markdown strategy in line with OTB targets.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Global Inventory Management: Manage inventory management and show key leadership skills, such as being accountable for global inventory management activities, including assessment of monthly global OTB updates across all channels.
  • Inventory Strategy: Lead the development of a comprehensive global 4-year inventory strategy across the full product life cycle, across all channels.
  • OTB Presentations: Prepare and deliver all OTB sign-off presentations to senior leadership teams, effectively communicating complex data and strategic recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Regional Revenue and Procurement Targets: Define and plan regional revenue and procurement targets at division level in partnership with retail merchandising, collection merchandising, regional teams, and replenishment to support centralized seasonal OTB and market buy.
  • Culture and Team Management: Embody the Burberry values, manage, coach, develop, and elevate planners, providing day-to-day direction and guidance, foster a culture of collaboration and one-team spirit.
Requirements
  • Experience: Extensive experience demonstrating excellence across all aspects of global inventory planning, at a manager level.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, with proven experience in influencing with credibility up to C-suite.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills: inspiring, energizing, and instilling a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
