Manufacturing Engineer

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the Space sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and applying engineering practice and knowledge in the design of mechanical systems, devices, equipment, and machines.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply engineering practice and knowledge in the design of mechanical systems, devices, equipment, and machines.
- Simulate a wide range of interactions and evaluate performance in real-world scenarios.
- Develop prototypes for manufacturability, testing, and validation.
- Work as a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support the 'Assembly, Integration, and Test' operational team.
- Produce Technical Instructions to support the manufacturing schedule.
- Identify production defects and develop corresponding rework and repair methods.
- Support quality reviews and RCAs using lean / six sigma tools.
- Develop lessons learned and support PFMEA reviews to reduce non-conformance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand and use complex technical feedback.
- Lean / Six Sigma experience (ideally green belt or higher).
- Ability to work offsite (UK and abroad) for undefined periods at short notice.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional shifts, as and when required.
- Experience working in a shop or factory environment and leading data-driven improvement projects.
- Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present data from various sources to steer projects across product assembly and supply chains.
- High level of technical skills with in-depth understanding of space industry assembly, integration, and test processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering and technical drawings, experience in procedures and process control, and understanding of build documentation to ensure clear instructions are given to shop floor operations.
