As a Senior Cost Engineer, you'll join our team of strategically-minded problem-solvers, working alongside experts to transform our iconic house of brands – Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar – and our heritage-rich JLR Classic range.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver robust, detailed, and directional Should Costs (estimates) to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Lead initiatives to identify and capitalize on commodity cost-saving opportunities within the JLR and supply chain.
  • Drive commercial and technical negotiations to close cost gaps and serve as a subject matter expert on cost drivers and commercial performance gaps for commodities within your responsibility.
  • Participate in supplier selection and strategy planning to ensure optimal partnerships.
  • Advise Product Engineering on design and change cost impact to inform informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in costing, manufacturing, and development of electronic components.
  • Strong character and determination to champion cost-saving opportunities and drive cost gap closure.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Specialized knowledge in manufacturing and design areas, including PCB manufacturing, SMT Line Processes, Electronic and Functional Testing, Electronic Assembly.
  • Specific expertise in the design and manufacture of speakers, microphones, amplifiers, large ECUs, and compute modules.
