About the Role:

  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to support a lean and profitable supply chain.
  • Manage supplier performance and implement scorecards to align business objectives on cost, quality, on-time delivery, lead times, etc.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, prioritizing and implementing plans to minimize their impact.
  • Conduct contract negotiations and market analysis to ensure optimal pricing and terms.
  • Prepare and manage requests for tender (RFQs) and related documentation.
  • Collate and report cost savings against targets, tracking the impact on profitability.
  • Ensure accurate item costs are reflected in the profit and loss statement.
  • Analyze logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient methods with suppliers and customers (cost to serve).
  • Drive business and industry compliance, aligning with the technical department.
  • Visit suppliers to build relationships and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support the business during large project executions, including new product development and innovation pipelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a track record of delivering savings.
  • Contract negotiation skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resilience and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Experience in the food or pet food industry is highly desirable.

Working Arrangements:

Pets Choice Ltd offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days per week spent in our Blackburn Head Office and two days per week working from home.
