Position Summary
In this senior position, you will provide essential technical leadership for the Service Desk team.
The Senior IT Engineer will be responsible for offering advanced technical support, guiding junior staff, overseeing monitoring processes, managing knowledge resources, maintaining documentation, and executing technical projects.
You will act as the network authority for the Service Desk, serving as a point of escalation for network-related challenges involving both on-site network systems and cloud-based networking solutions.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable position, managing diverse client infrastructures.
- Outstanding technical abilities and the capacity to juggle multiple urgent requests.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Associate and Expert level in MS365 / Azure / Security, CCNA.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in providing hands-on technical leadership.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Intune).
- Experience with cloud services (specifically Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS).
- Familiarity with Microsoft security and information protection tools (e.g., Defender and Purview).
- A comprehensive understanding of security principles and their practical applications.
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems and virtualization technologies.
- A thorough grasp of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, BGP, OSPF, etc.), along with network security measures, including firewall configurations, VPN setups, and intrusion detection systems.
- Hands-on experience with networking hardware such as Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience with Remote Management and Monitoring Systems like Datto RMM and TeamViewer.
- A strong understanding of common desktop operating systems, including Windows and MacOS.
- Good experience in troubleshooting laptop and desktop hardware.
- General knowledge of smartphone troubleshooting.
- Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery products (e.g., Azure, SkyKick, Barracuda, and Spanning).
