Flood Risk Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Engineer to join our team at Strata Consulting. As a key member of our Flood Risk team, you will be responsible for managing residential, commercial, and public sector projects, ensuring they meet company standards and productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement Flood Risk Assessment reports for strategic development schemes in Flood Zones 1, 2 & 3.
- Design surface water drainage strategies for proposed development sites, incorporating sustainable drainage techniques.
- Assist with project management, including administration, client liaison, quality control, and budgeting.
- Submit designs for third-party approvals, requiring effective communication with clients, authorities, and other agencies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across offices, as needed, to deliver responsibilities and attend meetings/events.
- Minimum degree in Civil Engineering or relevant subject.
- Relevant experience in design, management, flood risk/hydrology standards, and business development.
- Knowledge of current legislation, drainage design standards, and good practice.
- Proficiency in Micro Drainage and flood modeling software packages, such as XP Storm, Hec-Ras, Tuflow, or Floodmodeller.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and excellent written skills, particularly report writing and client liaison.
- Self-motivated individual with ambition to grow and develop the company, including mentoring/supervision of trainee staff.
- Hold a full clean driving license and have own private car with insurance for business use.
