About the Organization
A Financial Control Specialist is required by a leading entity in the Asset Management industry. This dynamic and expanding organization focuses on the development, investment, and management of public sector infrastructure assets, engaging in a variety of projects that include Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Construction, Infrastructure, and Waste Management. The ongoing growth driven by successful project bids and financial closures has led to the creation of a new role for a qualified accountant to take on the responsibilities of a Financial Control Specialist, ensuring robust financial oversight and delivering essential financial insights across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Control Specialist
- Preparation and review of monthly financial statements for a portfolio of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) projects
- Facilitating the execution of financial transactions, including invoicing, credit management, and payment processing
- Ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and established protocols
- Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Drafting the annual operating budget for evaluation and approval
- Preparing treasury investment proposals and quarterly corporate tax payment calculations
- Reviewing and approving VAT, PAYE, NI, CT61, and R185 submissions
- Overseeing the statutory audit process, compiling necessary documentation, and liaising with auditors
- Drafting annual statutory accounts for review
- Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations
Required Skills & Attributes of the Financial Control Specialist
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- A willingness to learn and adapt - while industry knowledge is not mandatory, a proactive approach to learning is highly valued
- Proven experience in producing management accounts and supervising the work of others
- Experience in managing an accounts assistant
