Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS3 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School in Wolverhampton. As a KS3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities, and providing individual and small group assistance to students during learning sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher: Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, ensuring a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Provide individual and small group assistance: Work closely with students to identify areas of need, and provide targeted support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere: Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity, where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Assist students with additional needs: Provide tailored support to students with special educational requirements, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Participate in the preparation and organisation of learning materials: Assist in the preparation of resources, and maintain a well-organised and tidy learning environment.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress: Work with the classroom teacher to track student progress, and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting: A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children in a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment: A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children: A patient, empathetic, and caring approach, with a genuine interest in working with children and supporting their learning and development.
