About the Role

Balfour Beatty Highways is seeking a highly skilled Works Manager to lead our Mottram Moor Link Road and A57 Link Road highways improvement scheme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality results while ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of highway improvement projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of foremen, general foremen, and laborers to ensure effective site management and control.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and approved RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) documents.
  • Coordinate logistics and supply chain management to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the rail and highway environment, with a strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Hold a Sentinel PTS card and have a good understanding of M&E works.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
