About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support to our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive financial business partnering services, offering strategic financial advice and technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial guidance to senior managers and portfolio holders, supporting resource management and budgeting processes.
  • Contribute to the statutory accounts process and liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure financial control and governance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks by developing robust business cases and financial models.
  • Support service managers in budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Lead and develop a small team, including Accountancy Officers and Apprentices, to drive financial excellence and best practices.
Requirements
  • Public Sector Experience: Previous experience in a public sector finance role is essential, with a strong understanding of financial management processes and procedures.
  • Qualifications: A member of a CCAB/CIMA body (or studying towards one) and actively engaged in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify risks, and provide solutions to drive business improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of presenting complex financial information to a range of stakeholders, including senior managers and elected members.
  • Leadership: Experience in managing or mentoring finance staff, with strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and deliver results.
