Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Luffy AI, a cutting-edge startup developing innovative adaptive neural networks for industrial control. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in building our suite of AI and physics model products for control and optimization of industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain our core physics engines and reference models, focusing on computational performance and numerical stability.
- Collaborate with the AI team to design and develop digital twins, ensuring they are fit for their intended uses.
- Maintain high-quality code standards across our physics codebases and develop visualization tools for digital twins and physics engines.
- Investigate and advance knowledge in problem areas, evaluating new approximations and numerical techniques for validity and performance.
- University degree in a relevant area of engineering or science (physics, maths, computer science) or an equivalent qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in games physics programming, digital twin development, chemical process modeling, or other physical simulations balancing performance and fidelity.
- Strong software architecture skills, including algorithm design, algorithmic complexity, and API design.
- Excellent mathematical skills, including vector calculus, linear algebra, and 3D geometry.
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in C++ desirable.
- Ability to produce visualization tools that support simulation models.
- Good understanding of code profiling, performance, and numerical optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and continuous integration.
- A competitive salary of £50k - £70k, depending on experience and capability assessment during the interview process.
