AECOM is actively seeking a Senior GIS Consultant/Analyst to enhance our Geospatial Team within the Digital Environment Practice Area. This is a full-time, permanent position within a collaborative group of 40 geospatial and data professionals situated across various locations in the UK and Ireland. Reporting directly to the Geospatial Lead, you will be responsible for delivering GIS solutions across a diverse range of projects for both internal and external clients, working alongside a multi-disciplinary project delivery team.
As a Senior GIS Consultant/Analyst, you will leverage your expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and database management to support an array of exciting projects both domestically and internationally. The projects you will engage with will vary in scale and complexity, encompassing significant initiatives in sectors such as Power/Renewables, Infrastructure, and Transport. Utilizing the Esri technology stack (mobile, desktop, and web) and your enthusiasm for automation and innovation, you will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and creating content, while assisting project teams and clients in visualizing and analyzing spatial data to facilitate informed decision-making and reporting.
Your Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the GIS aspects of projects within a multi-disciplinary context.
- Collaborate closely with project GIS Leads, data analysts, and other stakeholders to support a diverse team of subject matter experts in viewing, analyzing, and presenting spatial information.
- Enhance automation and customize workflows using scripts and FME workbenches to meet unique data transformation needs.
- Manage spatial and non-spatial data, creating and maintaining content in enterprise and file geodatabases, adhering to sound data management principles.
- Conduct geoprocessing and analysis tasks utilizing coding skills in ArcPy, Python, and/or Arcade to efficiently deliver tailored outputs.
- Support the creation and maintenance of webGIS (ArcGIS Online) to facilitate project team access to spatial information.
- Provide consultancy services to internal and external clients to understand their requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality delivery standards.
- Work within established GIS standards and best practices.
- Oversee quality assurance for all deliverables and comply with internal and client-mandated Technical Quality Review processes.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated GIS knowledge and experience in managing GIS projects.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Esri mobile applications, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Experience with FME Form to streamline data conversion and ETL tasks, with additional familiarity in FME Flow being advantageous.
- Strong understanding of spatial data structures and fundamental GIS concepts.
- Experience in managing and maintaining enterprise geodatabases, including corporate and industry standards.
- Knowledge of digital twin principles and objectives.
- Familiarity with the ArcGIS Enterprise platform.
- A well-rounded problem solver who identifies efficient and innovative solutions to client challenges.
- Experience in designing custom geospatial solutions using open-source tools (e.g., geopandas, PostGIS, QGIS) or proprietary solutions (e.g., ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python).
- Ability to deliver work in accordance with GIS best practices and corporate standards.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and promote GIS innovation.
- Detail-oriented and customer-focused, with the ability to coordinate a delivery team across multiple locations.
- Proficient in managing project tasks to meet quality, time, and budget expectations.
