Job Summary

The University of Stirling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician: Multiskilled to join our Estates & Campus Services team. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our University Estate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance and repair works across the University estate, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Respond quickly to priority tasks, undertaking fault diagnosis and repair, and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Undertake minor project works as required, including replacing or cleaning of filters, and carrying out minor painting and joinery duties.
  • Ensure that all work carried out complies with relevant risk assessments, safety legislation, and University safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist other in-house staff as required, and undertake any duties as necessary to support key University events.
Requirements
  • Highly motivated and forward-looking individual with a recognized apprenticeship in a core trade (mechanical/plumbing).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working in the field of building services maintenance and repairs within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong focus on customer service delivery, aiming to exceed expectations and deliver a positive customer experience.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Good written skills, including the ability to produce written reports.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Understanding of personal and team responsibility under Health & Safety legislation.
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge/understanding of electrical systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible and positive approach, finding innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Recognized working safely training.
