Job Summary:

Select Appointments are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join their client in Lincoln on an interim basis.

This temporary role will commence in August and conclude in October 2022.

The Role:

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on finance professional who is comfortable working with various areas of finance and collaborating with non-financial academic colleagues and other professional services colleagues.

The successful candidate will possess effective business partnering skills, derived from experience in communicating financial reports, negotiation, and analysis of complex information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide detailed, accurate, and timely financial information to enhance decision-making and support strategic initiatives.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with academic colleagues and other stakeholders.
  3. Analyse and interpret complex financial data to inform business decisions.
  4. Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts information.
  5. Utilize strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, to support financial processes.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. AAT level or part-qualified CCAB accountant (or relevant equivalent experience).
  2. High level of IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills.
  4. Ability to work proactively using own initiative and with minimum supervision.
  5. Experience of adapting own skills to new circumstances.
  6. Experience of problem-solving with the ability to manipulate and interpret financial data.
  7. Experience of working within higher or further education.
  8. Experience of managing, mentoring, or developing the skills of a team of staff.
