Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEND

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Hazel Oak School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with SEND and will be able to work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality education and care. You will be responsible for assisting the class teacher with learning activities, undertaking activities as planned, and supporting and supervising students beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher with learning activities and undertake activities as planned
  • Support and supervise students beyond the classroom, including during breaktimes and activities that support social development
  • Assist students with personal hygiene and healthcare/medical routines and deal with minor accidents and administer first aid
  • Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high-quality education and care
Requirements:
  • NVQ level 2 qualification in education/childcare/child development/supporting teaching and learning, or other relevant qualification
  • GCSE in English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children with learning difficulties
  • Skilled in positive behaviour management and solution-focused thinking
