We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optometrist to join our team at Compass Recruitment Solutions. As a Specialist Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and working closely with our team of Ophthalmologists to deliver high-quality eye care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out examinations associated with cataract surgery
- Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery for patients, documenting findings in electronic medical records
- Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
- Provide first-line clinical advice to patients and refer to medical practitioners as necessary
- Ensure awareness of CQC policies and updates, attending mandatory update courses
- Help control cross-infection by enforcing hospital policies on uniform, cleanliness, and decontamination
- Document and report accidents or incidents correctly
- Identify ways to improve processes and service to ensure a streamlined, efficient, and high-quality service for patients
- Build relationships with patients to understand their individual needs and provide suitable treatment solutions
- Provide explanations to patients about treatment and answer their questions fully
- Responsible for achieving set conversion rates from consultation to treatment booking
- Ensure compliance with pre-authorisation processes and collection of surgery deposits
Requirements:
- GOC Registered
- Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in the UK
- Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting
- Experience in refraction
- Experience using patient administration systems and electronic medical records
- Cataract experience (desirable); training can be provided
- IP qualification (desirable); training can be provided
