We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrotechnical Self-Employed Assessor to join our team at UK Assessor Limited. As an Electrotechnical Self-Employed Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting periodic assessments of customers registered under various electrotechnical schemes to ensure they comply with the rules and technical requirements.
You will work independently, following instructions and guidance contained in procedural manuals, to assess the work, resources, and technical requirements of our customers. Your role will involve conducting assessments of customers/members, making recommendations concerning approval, continued registration, deferment, or rejection, and completing all documentation required by the appropriate procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily/weekly programmed visits to assess customers/members
- Ensure customers/members are compliant with the competent person scheme rules
- Assess applicants for registration and conduct assessment visits in other geographical areas, as needed
- Make recommendations concerning approval, continued registration, deferment, or rejection
- Complete all documentation required by the appropriate procedures
- Prepare and complete comprehensive assessment reports with specific attention to detail
- Deliver all assessment documentation on time
- Build relationships with customers while providing an excellent customer service
- Assist in the training of newly appointed Assessors, as requested
- Comply with the requirements of our Health and Safety Policy
- Undertake any other duties as appropriate within your competence
- Attend regular team meetings
- Attend training courses and continued professional development
Requirements
- High level of technical competence over a wide range of electrical installations
- Detailed knowledge of BS 7671 and related codes of practice
- Excellent report writing, numeracy, and IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office
- Personable and communication skills with the ability to build excellent relationships at all levels
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to recognise customers' needs and strive to deliver the best level of customer service
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
- Full driving licence
- Full flexibility and the ability to work out of area when needed
