Academic Mentor - Graduate

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Academic Mentor to join our team at a Good Graded Secondary School in the borough of Redbridge.

This is a Long-Term, Full-Time position for the full academic year, starting in September 2024. As an Academic Mentor - Graduate, you will work closely with Class Teachers in lessons of your chosen subject, supporting students across KS3-5 with mixed abilities.

You will have the opportunity to work with students who require additional support, including those with SEND/SEMH needs, on a 1:1 and small group basis. The Head Teacher is keen to meet candidates who are passionate about their subject and have a desire to pursue a career in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in lessons of your chosen subject, working with Class Teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Work with students who require additional support, including those with SEND/SEMH needs, on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Help students to prepare and excel in exams, providing targeted support to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement effective strategies to support student progress.
Requirements:
  • Graduate status, with a strong academic record.
  • Passion for your subject area, with a desire to pursue a career in teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
