The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary foundation, a commitment to excellence, and a genuine passion for street food culture. As a Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in upholding the highest standards of authenticity and quality while managing large-scale food service. You will collaborate with a diverse kitchen team of up to 20 staff members, including a Chef de Partie who will work closely with you and oversee additional team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in menu development that emphasizes our commitment to quality and authenticity for large-scale catering.
  • Supervise daily food preparation, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
  • Efficiently manage cooking and assembly during peak service times, maintaining high standards.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering respect for traditional cooking methods and premium ingredients.
  • Work alongside the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations and maintain team morale.
  • Oversee inventory management, sourcing top-quality ingredients while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in high-volume settings.
  • Collaborate on the creation of new recipes that honor culinary traditions while accommodating large service demands.
  • Assist in managing food costs and budgets to ensure profitability without sacrificing quality.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-quality culinary environment.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Exceptional cooking skills with attention to detail in presentation.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication abilities.
  • Experience in training and managing kitchen staff, including junior chefs.
  • Passion for utilizing high-quality ingredients and preserving culinary heritage.
