Operations Team Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Team Manager to join our team at Marshalls in Bridgend. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing plant, while also driving continuous improvement and excellence in all aspects of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of operations staff to achieve business objectives and exceed KPIs
- Ensure the safe operation of plant and equipment, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Develop and implement process control checks and records to company standards
- Manage quality incidents and ensure that all affected product or material is contained/controlled
- Support a zero-tolerance approach to breaches in safety standards and ensure compliance with policies/procedures and associated site controls
- Deliver team briefs/toolbox talks and ensure that any initiatives are embraced and actioned in line with company guidelines
Requirements:
- IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH General Certificate and other relevant qualifications (e.g. ILM, Lean Six Sigma)
- Experience of operating in a medium/large manufacturing site with responsibility for a team of 10 or more employees
- Experience of operating in a traditional employee relations climate
- Knowledge & understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Some experience of implementing continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques (e.g. DMAIC)
- Experience of maximising the potential of others, including development and performance management
- Demonstrable experience of driving and improving site performance
