Job Title: Commercial Vice President

Citi is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Vice President to join our Tax Team in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing technical tax support to our UK, Europe, and MEA businesses.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing VAT advice in respect of global commodity transactions, assisting with technology implementation in the business, and reviewing the commodities' businesses VAT return and other VAT reporting requirements. You will also work closely with colleagues overseas to ensure the indirect tax issues associated with this business are effectively managed on a timely basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide VAT advice and support to the commodities business, including VAT return and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with technology implementation in the business to ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Work closely with colleagues overseas to manage indirect tax issues associated with the commodities business.
  • Support the Head of VAT, UK, Europe, and MEA to provide ad hoc VAT advice in relation to all Citi businesses and support areas.
  • Apply commercial judgment and technical proficiency to provide VAT advice and support.
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of VAT and financial services.
  • Experience of VAT processes and risks.
  • Commercial judgment and technical proficiency.
  • Experience in general VAT and tax accounting.
  • Worked in a multi-jurisdictional environment and gained knowledge of one or more tax systems.
  • Experience of partial exemption special methods and financial services VAT.
