Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and leadership skills. As a Lead Tissue Viability Nurse, you will be responsible for providing clinical guidance and support to healthcare staff, patients, and visitors on infection prevention and control and tissue viability practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement evidence-based clinical guidelines and policies for IPC and TV.
  2. Provide clinical expertise and training to healthcare staff on IPC and TV practices.
  3. Conduct audits and surveillance to ensure compliance with IPC and TV standards.
  4. Collaborate with the IPC Clinical Lead Nurse to manage outbreaks of infection and implement control measures.
  5. Develop and deliver a planned program of surveillance and audit compliance with guidelines and standards.
  6. Undertake project and research work to enhance the provision of IPC and TV and surveillance through data analysis and pattern recognition.
  7. Assist with the interpretation of microbiology results and ensure liaison between the appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  8. Manage the development and implementation of IPC and TV competency assessments for staff.
  9. Maintain accurate, timely, and legible records/documentation in accordance with the Trust and NMC guidelines and requirements.
Requirements
  • NMC Registered Nurse.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Post graduate qualification related to IPC/TV.
  • Health & Safety Qualification.
  • Experience within a Theatre environment.
