Role Summary:

We are seeking talented Control Panel/Hardware Design Engineers to join our esteemed team at Capula. This role involves the design of hardware systems utilizing proprietary components for control panels, with a primary focus on PLCs, MCCs, Drives & Controls, and Switchgear. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and verifying essential calculations and designs. The position may require occasional travel for site surveys and solution design.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficient in designing electrical panels that incorporate PLCs and low-voltage distribution systems.
  • Experience in the design of electrical cabling and containment systems.
  • A minimum of a degree in a relevant field or an HND with substantial project implementation experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance to at least SC level, with potential for DV clearance.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for client interaction and mentoring.
  • Capability to mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Adept at developing technical solutions that align with project and client expectations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Knowledge of IEC BS EN standards for low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies.
  • Confidence to collaborate within a multidisciplinary design team.
  • Experience working with production teams to ensure design completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Understanding of EMC practices.
  • Progress towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.
  • MEng qualification.
  • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
  • Site experience in surveying and installation.
