About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior or Principal Systems Engineering Consultant to join our team at CV Library. As a Senior or Principal Systems Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for leading teams that use Systems thinking to analyse, assess and develop ways to mitigate safety, environmental and cyber threats across Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology markets.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide Consultancy Services: Offer expert advice to client project and engineering managers on systems engineering best practices and tools.
  2. Lead Systems Engineering Teams: Champion a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to solving client issues and lead the use of best practice techniques and tools on client and internal projects.
  3. Develop Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to achieve successful client decision milestones and deliver identified engineering outputs within time, cost, and quality constraints as part of an engineering service to a client.
  4. Identify Opportunities: Proactively identify opportunities and contribute to growth by developing and implementing strategies to achieve successful client decision milestones.
  5. Mentor and Coach: Contribute to the development of our people through mentoring and coaching.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, mathematics, science, software or equivalent depth of experience in an engineering field. You will also need to be professionally recognised with an appropriate institution, such as CEng, CSEP, and have a commensurate level of senior experience in systems engineering.


Requirements:
  1. MBSE Expertise: Have a strong understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools, such as Sparx EA, Cameo.
  2. Modelling and Architecture Frameworks: Have knowledge of modelling and architecture frameworks, such as UML/SysML, ArchiMate, TOGAF, MODAF.
  3. Requirements Engineering: Have experience in requirements engineering and its link to verification and validation.
  4. Engineering Lifecycles: Have knowledge of engineering lifecycles, their selection, tailoring and implementation.
  5. Complex Systems Integration: Have experience in working on the integration of complex systems, including military civilian platforms, civilian aircraft systems and advanced power and energy systems.
  6. Systems Engineering Processes: Have knowledge of systems engineering processes, such as ISO 15288:2023, across the lifecycle.
  7. Project and Team Management: Have experience in managing projects and teams within different development methods.
  8. Defence Knowledge: Have understanding of engineering within the MOD's acquisition framework, Knowledge in Defence (KiD).
  9. Interpersonal Skills: Have strong interpersonal skills and able to build trusted relationships.
  10. Communication Skills: Have the ability to understand, simplify and explain subject matter to non-engineers and senior stakeholders.
