Primary Teaching Assistant + Salaried Teacher Training Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at EdEx. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning and personal needs, while also having the opportunity to train to become a qualified teacher.
Key Responsibilities- Support students in 1:1, group, or whole class situations, prioritizing their safety and access to learning in a supportive learning environment.
- Assist in developing resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies, working closely with the teacher to ensure the provision supports learning needs.
- Evaluate students' progress and provide feedback on their achievements, progress, and needs.
- Lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
- Attend to students' personal needs where required.
- Support with behavior management.
- Prepare the classroom for lessons, clear afterwards, and assist with the display of students' work.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, gathering and reporting information as directed.
- Qualifications to degree level or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of SEND and the various barriers to learning.
- Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviors.
- Knowledge of some of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues in a school environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with an excellent standard of written and spoken English.
As a Teaching Assistant at EdEx, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of educators and support the learning and development of students. You will also have the chance to train to become a qualified teacher, with the support of an outstanding mentor.
