About the Role

Cambridge Design Partnership is a world-class product development consultancy driven by technology and inspired by meeting end-user needs to create commercial success. We have an exciting new vacancy for a Chief Financial Officer to join and further develop our busy accounts team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management: You will work with the management team to set the strategy and direction of the business that drives forward our next phase of growth.
  • Leading: A very capable finance team, you will be expected to provide accurate financial information to enable informed senior management decision-making.
  • Development: Enhancing the financial reporting environment, driving change and improvements to provide efficiencies.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis: Provide insight on the financial impact of our plans.
  • Treasury Management: Ensure we have the right budgets and controls in place to hit our target.
  • Financial Reporting: Filing our monthly management and statutory accounts/audit requirements.

The role is 50:50 between day-to-day finance and strategic activities.

Your Other Duties
  • Responsible for the delivery and quality of financial information including management accounts and budgets.
  • Managing cost efficiencies in a creative design environment.
  • Manage, monitor, and model the company's accounting functions including overseas subsidiaries (e.g. USA, and in the future EU and Asia).
  • Work with US Accountants in preparation and filing of multiple US state returns.
  • Treasury management including cash flow modelling and management of intercompany transfer pricing.
  • Developing budgeting and forecasting models for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures both in the UK and US.
About You

You will be a qualified Management Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA). You will have a high level of focus, attention to detail, and great presentation skills in order to communicate your ideas and conclusions to the board.

You will have experience as a CFO or FD.

  • You've probably worked in a high-growth environment beforehand and can work at pace.
  • You understand group structures and the complexities of this (e.g. transfer pricing, international tax). Experience with high-performing start-up businesses, raising finance, and managing external investors.

You should have experience in:

  • UK GAAP and ideally US GAAP.
  • Multicurrency environments.
  • Working with a rapidly growing company so you understand the challenges involved.
