Cygnet Health Care is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bierley. As a Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals to our service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals for our service users.
- Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room, adhering to Cygnet's high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Wash utensils, dishes, and ensure they are stored appropriately, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
- Rotate stock and put away all deliveries, ensuring that all food and supplies are stored correctly.
- Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet's standards and food hygiene regulations.
- Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet's procedures.
- Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

- Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting.
- Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards.
