About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team at G&H | ITL Ashford. As a key member of our design and development team, you will be responsible for the electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production, taking into account requirements, timescales, cost, and regulatory constraints.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and develop digital and analogue electronics and firmware for products from concept through to production.
  • Develop system architectural designs and concepts.
  • Create schematic and board layouts using Altium Designer CAD tool.
  • Build, test, and fault-find prototypes.
  • Capture specifications and requirements.
  • Perform hands-on soldering and fault-finding.
  • Support EMC and electrical safety compliance.
  • Generate cost models, conduct ROHS analysis, and compile results.
  • Possibly oversee junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Experience in digital and analogue design.
  • Embedded programming experience in 'C', FPGA VHDL.
  • Proficiency in C++,.net, C#, Java, Python, or algorithm development an advantage.
  • Familiarity with CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred).
  • Knowledge of EMC compliance design techniques and safety standards advantageous.
  • Clear and concise report writing with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to take on other systems elements within a project.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Willingness to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of design experience, but exceptional candidates with lower experience will be considered if evidence of outstanding ability can be demonstrated.
  • Ability to client-face and convey technical information in an easy-to-understand confident manner.
  • Hands-on, self-motivated, willing to learn, and help evolve the R&D department and build an expert team.
