Job Description

As a key member of our team at Ignite Recruitment Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive repairs and maintenance service to domestic heating installations and appliances in client properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, repair, maintain, and install gas appliances in client-owned properties, adhering to manufacturer's instructions and guidelines.
  • Diagnose and repair modern and traditional boilers, as well as central heating systems, including fitting new pumps, motorized valves, radiators, and adapting pipework as necessary.
  • Perform power flushing of heating systems.
  • Ensure the security and correct operation of plant and equipment supplied, including vehicles, flue gas analysis meters, and mobile data equipment.
  • Accurately complete certification and documentation in accordance with Data Protection and Information Security regulations.
  • Monitor first-time fix and call-back rates to maintain standards and service levels.
  • Utilize high-level literacy and numeracy skills to complete calculations associated with gas works and disseminate manufacturer's instructions.
  • Employ a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving and fault diagnosis, with the ability to stay focused and follow through to a satisfactory outcome.
  • Provide excellent customer care, dealing with potentially angry or upset individuals, and coping with the emotional demands of such situations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and independently, showing initiative in dealing with situations and completing tasks.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to explain the correct operation of gas appliances and the importance of regular servicing.
  • Work to deadlines and timescales, liaising with managers and customers regarding changes to schedules or appointments.
  • Be willing and able to work with and train apprentices or other personnel as required.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably requested by the Contract Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications:
  • ACS qualifications - minimum of CCN1, CEN1, WAT1, (CENWAT), CKR1, HTR1 & CPA1, Energy Efficiency, DAH1, Unvented Hot Water, WRAS (water supply regulations 1999)
Health & Safety:
  • Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training
