We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to support clinical leadership across our adult services and Out of Hours Clinical Leads in North Thames Genomics Laboratory Hub.
Main Responsibilities- Provide strong clinical and professional leadership to Team Leaders and clinicians within the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Be a visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in the clinical areas
- Work within the Modern Matrons Charter to ensure good standards of infection control, privacy, and dignity, cleanliness, and health and safety
- Oversee and monitor the quality, timeliness, and development of nursing care in accordance with all relevant professional standards
- Ensure the environments in which service care and treatment is provided are fit for purpose, clean, well ordered, and maintained
- Ensure all nursing practice is in accordance with statutory and corporate policies, including those specific to service user care
- Be responsible for the professional management of the clinical environment, ensuring the right staff with the right skills to deliver person-centered nursing care, involving service users and carers
- Supervise and teach registered and non-registered staff, including students
- Be responsible for the identification of learning development needs
- Teaching and assessing course
- Management or leadership development
- Degree in Nursing or other health-related study
- Masters level qualification in nursing or health-related study
- Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance with and through clinical teams
- Proven ability to analyze complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions
- Ability to think and plan strategically, tactically, and creatively, and to prioritize work programs in the face of competing demands
- A strong sense of personal and team accountability coupled with a clear understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority
- Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners
- A good understanding of the changing NHS environment
- A proven track record of operational service management at a senior level within an inpatient environment
- Sound experience of developing systems that support safe, effective, and high standards of care
- Dealing with and resolving conflicts
- Experience of using quality improvement tools to improve care delivery
- Experience of implementing and monitoring infection prevention and control measures
