We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Children and Young Person's Independent Domestic Violence Advisor. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young survivors of domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empower young survivors to identify features and dynamics of domestic abuse and provide individualized safety and support plans.
- Work with young survivors aged 13-25, holding a caseload of varying complexity and prioritizing high-risk cases.
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments, and participate in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC).
- Provide advocacy, practical support, and information to young survivors, and develop relationships and referral pathways with partner agencies.
- Assist in delivering training and providing consultancy and advice to other agencies as required.
Requirements:
- Understanding of the issues faced by young survivors experiencing domestic abuse.
- Good understanding of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for children and young people at risk of domestic abuse.
- Experience of delivering services to survivors of domestic abuse and/or other vulnerable people.
- Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload, prioritize work, and deal with competing demands.
- Ability to deliver individualized safety and support plans, and deliver training sessions to professional agencies.
- Understanding and knowledge of and active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity.
- Ability to self-reflect, identify own needs, and put in place effective self-care strategies.
