About the Role

Cornwallis Elt Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team as a key member of our Trade Processing team within our FX division. As a Senior Java Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing code with a long-term view for the architectural vision of our platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement code to improve the stability and performance of our trade processing system
  • Collaborate with our development team to identify and investigate production issues
  • Work closely with our business stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code that adheres to our coding standards and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall quality of our codebase

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on coding experience in Core Java (J2SE) is essential
  • Prior experience working with Oracle is highly beneficial
  • Good experience working with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka or Solace) is beneficial
  • Prior financial experience, in particular working within Trade processing/booking team, is highly desirable
  • Cloud service experience is sought after, in particular GCP, but is not essential
