About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Manager to join our team at Workonblockchain. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our development team and driving the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership: Develop close, trusting relationships with our senior team and other heads of department to ensure the principles of development excellence are integrated into our process and output.
  2. Team Management: Manage a team of 35 Software Engineers, Testers, and Architects, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help them reach their full potential.
  3. Performance Management: Define, share, and monitor personal performance targets for all team members, ensuring they meet quality, billability, and adherence to estimates.
  4. Quality Assurance: Ensure that the quality of team outputs meets the brief, exceeds client expectations, and meets best practices at all times.
  5. Business Development: Support our new business team through the pitch process, providing ballparks, proposal documents, and presenting our capabilities to clients.
  6. Recruitment and Training: Manage recruitment for your department, create Personal Development Plans for team members, and support them in achieving these goals.
  7. Compliance and Security: Work with our Compliance, Legal, and IT teams to ensure issues and problems are escalated swiftly, and that appropriate actions are taken to maintain our departmental and business certifications.
  8. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Plan, manage, and support Disaster Recovery testing activities and reporting, ensuring that our department is prepared for any eventuality.
  9. Partnership and Certification: Ensure that a department plan is in place to obtain partnership status as defined by our strategic roadmap, and that all training requirements are obtained and refreshed.
  10. Team Capacity and Capability: Monitor team annual leave to ensure that appropriate team capacity and capability is available to the business year-round.
