Job Overview

Position: Application Security Consultant

Location: London (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and collaborative training on secure coding practices to development teams.
  • Utilize threat modeling expertise to empower developers in self-assessing threats and provide advanced guidance when necessary.
  • Expertly configure and deploy security tools in an automated fashion within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify and prioritize risks associated with development activities, implementing effective mitigating controls.
  • Work alongside development teams to devise strategies for addressing vulnerabilities identified through SAST, DAST, SCA, vulnerability scanning, and API security tools.
  • Stay updated on security trends in the development landscape to effectively counter evolving threats.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a comparable role.
  • In-depth understanding of OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IDE security tools.
  • Proficiency in API security best practices and familiarity with OWASP API Top 10.
  • Experience in scripting for pipeline automation and security stage gate development.
  • Solid understanding of major cloud providers and current network and client operating systems.
  • Proven experience in developing business processes and managing business office operations.
  • Ability to leverage IT solutions to address business challenges.
  • Capable of articulating ideas in both business-friendly and user-friendly terms.
  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
