Senior Planner Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team at Westlakes Recruit. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for working across the business unit, delivering projects to our key clients, and driving the growth of our business in this sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify planning scope and work with all disciplines to ensure the full project scope is captured within the programme.
  • Build the programme from first principles, ensuring that programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidance.
  • Establish and agree with Operations key methods of construction, sequencing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Produce and document the planning deliverables, including programmes, basis of schedule, presentations, and reports.
  • Develop overall programmes, issue to all parties for review, and implement recommendations, innovation, and best practice as applicable.
  • Cost and resource loading, plus resource levelling techniques as required.
  • Interface with third parties to identify and resolve issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the Contract Programme is produced, managed, and maintained in accordance with the planning procedures.
  • Develop the overall planning strategy and the timing & sequence of the Contract Programme activities.
  • Issue and communicate the Contract Programme to the Project Lead for onward issue to Client and Project Team.
  • Ensure that all other project planning and programming necessary for the execution of the contract is properly undertaken.
  • Set up appropriate visual programme to assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance, and safety of projects.
  • Ensure all reporting requirements are accurately captured.
  • Establish, implement & manage EVM reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Requirements:
  • Experienced with Primavera P6.
  • Ability to travel to project sites on a regular frequency and/or as determined by project requirements.
  • Experience across all stages of the project life cycle in medium to large-sized projects within the construction industry 1m - 20m.
  • Good understanding of the various forms of tender documents, contract documents, and specifications.
  • Good understanding of the various methods of planning, programme, and progress monitoring, risk and opportunity management with reference to planning & programming along with communication skills, including writing reports & presenting.
  • Good understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements.
