Position Overview:

A vacancy has emerged for a Consultant Haematologist specializing in lymphoma at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, 11-PA (10 plus 1 APA) replacement position within a collaborative and dedicated team of 11 consultants. The lymphoma team currently consists of six consultants and is set to expand.

The team is supported by an Associate Specialist in lymphoma, four clinical nurse specialists, and a clinical navigator, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Lymphoma clinics are conducted three times weekly, catering to treatment, follow-up, and new patient assessments. In-patient therapies are administered in a specialized 18-bedded haematology ward, providing BCSH level 2b care, including induction and salvage treatments for high-grade lymphomas.

Collaboration with regional transplant centers is integral for autologous stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy.

Research and Development:

Engagement in an active research program with opportunities to participate in national phase 3 trials is encouraged. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the anticipated establishment of an autologous transplant program.

Work Environment:

This position is based at the Royal Derby Hospital, with flexibility for candidates seeking part-time opportunities, subject to service requirements. The Trust's merged structure necessitates occasional work across various sites.
