Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Managing Editor, European Carbon Markets. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for managing a team of journalists, liaising with industry contacts, and contributing to the development of our carbon price assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of at least five reporters to produce high-quality news content and price assessments.
  • Liaise with the Editorial Director of Carbon to identify priorities and develop strategies for market coverage.
  • Maintain and build a network of industry contacts to ensure accurate and timely market information.
  • Attend and report from industry conferences and events to stay up-to-date on market trends and developments.
  • Liaise with carbon market sources to gather information and insights.
  • Contribute to price discovery by developing and engaging contacts in the market.
  • Produce spot news stories on a regular basis and high-quality longer-form journalism periodically.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in environmental or commodity markets.
  • Demonstrable news writing skills and experience in managing a team of journalists.
  • Awareness of price discovery in opaque markets and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A hands-on attitude and a hunger to work as part of a team.
  • Proven experience as a self-starter who works well under pressure.
