About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at WhereToTalk, where you will play a vital role in providing evening support to students at the University of Oxford.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral counselling/psychotherapy to students with a range of psychological problems.
  • Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services to students.
  • Design and deliver training programs for college and departmental staff on student mental health issues and support strategies.
  • Contribute to the operational development of the Counselling Service and support the wider work of the service within colleges, departments, and external services.
  • Attend and engage with training and consultancy meetings to share in decisions on format and content.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Individual Counsellor Accreditation/UKCP Registration or equivalent body.
  • Substantial experience of delivering individual, psychodynamic, and/or cognitive behavioral counselling/psychotherapy for a range of psychological problems.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, self-motivate, and motivate others.
  • Detailed and contemporary familiarity with issues facing students in Higher Education.
  • Evidence of ability to identify training needs, design, and deliver training accordingly.
  • Experience of using MS Outlook or equivalent for email and calendar and MS Teams or equivalent for chat, video/audio calls, and file storage/sharing.
