Position Summary

The primary role of the lead workshop technician is to carry out maintenance and refurbishment activities on ROV systems and/or associated tooling packages within our Aberdeen workshop. In addition, it is expected that the lead workshop technician will offer guidance to workshop technicians, operations planners, and project teams as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Essential Functions:
    • Carry out maintenance (mobilization, demobilization, periodic, and in-storage) and refurbishment activities on company/client owned equipment.
    • Ensure all work adheres to company operating and maintenance standards and complies with current legislation.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities within our systems.
    • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions.
    • Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing and maintaining complex equipment.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

The employee may be working indoors or outdoors during the day and occasionally at night. Climatic and environmental conditions at the job site may include indoor and outdoor climate with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment etc. This may include an offshore environment where vessel movements may have an effect.

The employee will be required to wear PPE at all times.

This position is considered Medium work.
