Chemical Production Supervisor

Position: Southern Production Supervisor

The primary responsibility of the Southern Production Supervisor is to provide effective leadership to the southern production team, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards, adherence to water treatment regulations, and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The goal is to maximize both team and asset performance.

• Develop and execute strategies for production operations and reactive maintenance.
• Implement changes in processes and procedures to enhance safety, reliability, compliance, and productivity.
• Oversee the implementation and ongoing use of the Competent Operator Scheme (COS).
• Establish and maintain comprehensive procedures, systems, practices, and risk assessments.
• Adopt risk-based maintenance practices that consider cost, performance, and risk factors.
• Encourage improvements and support initiatives aimed at minimizing exposure to critical risks and hazards through maintenance activities.
• Maximize and coordinate the performance and reliability of production assets, as measured by the Unplanned Interruption Outcome Delivery Incentive (ODI).
• Collaborate with the onsite Water Quality Chemist to enhance quality and optimize efficiency across all treatment processes.
• Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners and regulatory bodies.
• Conduct regular management safety tours to ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
• Ensure that production staff are adequately trained and competent, and conduct regular one-on-one meetings and appraisals.
• Promote team development and succession planning.

It is crucial to have a thorough understanding of the regulations and standards set by the Drinking Water Inspectorate and Environmental Agency. Additional requirements include:

• Full UK Driving License.
• Knowledge of water treatment and chemical dosing processes is preferred.
• Experience in leading operational teams to achieve high performance.
