Adult Disability Senior Practitioner

Experienced Social Worker with a background in Community Mental Health and AMHP.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a Qualified Social Worker with a live unrestricted registration with Social Work England.
- Have an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status.
- Have at least 3 years post continuous qualifying experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide input to adults with mental health difficulties and learning disabilities, some of whom will have additional complex needs because of a physical disability, mental health problems, challenging behaviour, sensory impairment, dementia, etc.
The successful candidate will support the Social Care lead and Team Manager to effectively lead, support and develop the team.
They will also assist with overall responsibility within the team for assessment, care/support planning and review of people with a range of needs and their carers, working within a multi-disciplinary framework.
Undertake the legal and statutory duties of the post as required by the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and any other relevant legislation.
Provide expert advice and guidance within the team on social care issues.
Prepare court reports and attend court and court of protection hearings to provide expert evidence when necessary.
Provide and develop specific specialist knowledge relevant to the role.
Person Specification- Qualified Social Worker with a live unrestricted registration with Social Work England.
- Have an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status.
- Have at least 3 years post continuous qualifying experience.
- Evidence of CPD.
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Demonstrate ability to work as an effective team member with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Adult Safeguarding and the impact that it has on service users and families.
- Experience of working across health and social care boundaries.
- Detailed understanding of the Care Act and other appropriate legislation.
- Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate practice against Professional Capabilities Framework and standards as agreed in the service.
- Previous experience working in Community Mental Health Services.
- Working as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
- At least 3 years post qualifying experience.
- Experience of working with Adults and Carers.
- Experience of supervision of staff and/or students.
- Experience of managing complex cases and risk assessment.
- Experience of safeguarding work including Mental Capacity.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary interagency basis and ability to negotiate on behalf of people and carers.
- Experience of own professional development.
