About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EC&I Software Engineer to join our Industrial Control & Information Systems department, covering the whole of the UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing, engineering, and commissioning PLCs and SCADA/HMI systems that form part of Veolia's Plant Management Systems (PMS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer PLCs and SCADA/HMI systems using Allen Bradley CompactLogix and SLC families, RSView32, FTView SE SCADA platforms, and ICONICS.
  • Develop detailed software specifications and interpret P&ID and associated plant drawings to carry out graphical element design of SCADA and HMI.
  • Test and commission PLC and SCADA/HMI systems, including field instrumentation, metering, and control panel wiring checks.
  • Produce and compile associated data, configuration, and commissioning systems documentation.
  • Provide technical support by diagnosing PLC and SCADA problems and undertaking corrective actions.
  • Identify cost-effective C&I enhancements leading to efficiency and productivity gains.
Requirements
  • 5 years minimum experience with Allen Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, and CompactLogix family of PLCs, RSView32, FTView SE SCADA systems, Rockwell PanelView, and Funuc HMIs.
  • Working knowledge and experience of PID control.
  • Be conversant with specifications, flow charts, PFDs, and P&IDs.
  • Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related subject.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to Permit to Work systems and ability to compile RAMS.
  • Willingness to travel and work on site, with hotel accommodation for extended periods.
