Position Purpose

As a Hazardous Waste Transporter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely movement of clinical and industrial waste between Stericycle depots. Your responsibilities will include swapping waste streams to the correct facility, adhering to all legal compliance issues regarding EU Working Time Directive (EU hours) and ADR Transportation Regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily schedules according to agreed routes and timings.
  • Complete required documentation related to drivers' hours and WTD, ensuring compliance with legislation and company procedures.
  • Adhere to all statutory requirements concerning the Road Traffic Act and other relevant legislation pertaining to vehicles, driver's hours, digital Tachograph records, vehicle weight limits, and speed limits.
  • Comply with all ADR/Hazardous goods legislation requirements.
  • Follow company standard operating procedures diligently.
  • Act as a customer contact at delivery points, providing polite and courteous service to customers and road users.
  • Attend work instructions, trainings, and staff meetings as required.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned and demonstrate a flexible approach to working times and shift requirements.
  • Comply with all reasonable management requests and maintain a high professional standard. Report any accidents or incidents promptly and complete all necessary company documentation.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle checks prior to use and notify Service Coordinators of any defects through appropriate documentation.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Previous driving experience is preferred. A valid LGV Class 1 Licence and Driver CPC are essential. ADR Training is advantageous.
