About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Beechwood College in Sully, Cardiff. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Mental Health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support to students in the classroom and during activities, promoting their safeguarding and well-being at all times.
  • Assist students in achieving their goals and targets, working closely with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Contribute to the college's total communication approach, using effective communication skills to engage with students and staff.
  • Support the lecturer in preparing the learning environment, maintaining displays, and organizing activities and clubs.
  • Offer personal care to students, respecting their privacy and cultural background.
  • Attend staff meetings and training activities, covering for lecturers' planned absence and short-term sickness.
Requirements
  • Able to form and maintain professional relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, using own initiative and working flexibly.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to attend training sessions and work towards/undertake necessary qualifications to meet registration requirements.
