Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the residential care home, including grounds maintenance, minor repairs, and redecoration. The successful candidate will work closely with the Home Manager to prioritize tasks and ensure that all duties are carried out to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities
  • Carry out day-to-day maintenance and caretaking duties, including grass cutting, weeding, and maintenance of outbuildings.
  • Undertake minor repairs and redecoration as required.
  • Monitor and report defects in heating and lighting equipment.
  • Support management with testing of fire alarm, call alarm systems, and emergency lighting systems.
  • Conduct routine H&S monitoring, inspections, and audits in the care home.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in carrying out maintenance duties and day-to-day repairs, possibly in a trade capacity. They will be flexible in their approach to work and able to work as part of a team. The successful candidate will also be sympathetic to the needs of elderly people and able to work in a residential environment.
