Culinary Specialist

Location: Cross Site Chef

Employment Type: Full-time, hours per week

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our esteemed healthcare facilities. This position involves working across multiple sites, collaborating with our dedicated teams, and providing essential support during peak times, staff absences, and other operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Culinary Preparation: Demonstrate expertise in diverse cooking methods, ensuring the preparation and presentation of meals meet the highest standards of quality and creativity.

- Quality Assurance: Uphold the established benchmarks for taste, appearance, and overall quality of all culinary offerings.

- Kitchen Oversight: Assist the head chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including workflow organization, staff supervision, and timely task completion.

- Staff Development: Mentor and train kitchen personnel, sharing culinary knowledge and fostering skill enhancement within the team.

- Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with the head chef to monitor inventory levels, manage ingredient orders, and ensure proper storage and rotation of perishable goods.

- Compliance with Health Standards: Support the head chef in maintaining rigorous hygiene and safety protocols, ensuring adherence to food handling and sanitation regulations.

- Effective Communication: Foster strong communication and collaboration with the head chef, kitchen staff, and other team members, while engaging positively with patients.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must possess certifications in Food Hygiene and Safety, along with an NVQ qualification up to Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality.
