About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at TDM Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our Technical and Design team, providing essential tools and guidance to the business, and driving strategic initiatives to deliver high-quality residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- CDM/EMS Implementation: Competently implement CDM/EMS regulations, identifying foreseeable risks in designs and taking action to design risk out, in line with company policy.
- Design Responsibilities: Discharge the Designers' responsibilities under CDM regulations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Fully understand the CDM/EMS regulations and demonstrate a working knowledge of how these should be incorporated into designs.
- Site Management: Ensure CDM/EMS site start processes and site close-out procedures are followed and recorded.
- Environmental Considerations: Maintain a good understanding of environmental/ecological constraints to development and ensure that appropriate mitigation is undertaken to allow development to proceed in line with the Regional Programme.
- Design Development: Continue to develop site designs and provide full engineering support throughout the planning and building regulation process.
- Consultant Management: Manage consultants in road, sewer, levels, cut and fill designs, to satisfy planning while maintaining the most competitive and practical solution.
- Issue Resolution: Co-ordinate and manage external consultants to resolve any engineering issues.
- Statutory Compliance: Co-ordinate and manage statutory bodies such as Highway Authorities/Road authority, Water Companies, Environment Agencies, etc. to resolve any engineering issues.
- Project Value: Work with the project team to add value and secure the best planning consent and engineering solution for the company.
- Community Engagement: Manage community engagement consultations to support planning applications.
- Site Evaluation: Responsible for evaluation and appraisal of development opportunities to purchase new sites.
Requirements:
- Education: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within the housebuilding or residential development sector.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, and industry best practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of relevant engineering software and tools.
