About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Assistant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning and domestic duties to a high standard, following set procedures and standards.
  • Provide a cleaning service in accordance with approved methods, standards, and frequencies.
  • Support terminal cleans and infection cleans, ensuring adherence to infection control procedures.
  • Remove and clean up uncontained body fluid spillages in line with Trust policy and national cleaning standards.
  • Use cleaning equipment, machinery, and cleaning materials responsibly and within health and safety guidelines.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has a good understanding of the importance of cleaning within a hospital environment.
  • Is able to use electrical cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Has a flexible approach to working unsocial hours and is able to move across the Trust as required.
