In this role, you will take charge of overseeing and managing the operational application of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) in accordance with Company EHS Standards and local regulatory requirements for designated sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading field EHS personnel and assisting operational leaders in understanding and applying EHS standards and regulatory obligations.
- Facilitating the implementation of the Company EHS Management System components and providing performance reports and improvement recommendations to operations.
- Managing and executing initiatives aimed at fostering operational commitment and compliance with global EHS policies, standards, and procedures for assigned sites or business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee quality aspects of the EHS Data Management System to ensure accurate reporting.
- Identify EHS business risks by monitoring lead and lag indicator data, and develop targeted corrective action plans.
- Engage in injury management, investigation methodologies, incident classification, risk assessment, action development, accountability processes, and claims management.
- Coordinate and/or schedule risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, and workplace inspections with EHS Advisors based on their expertise.
- Support the identification of Company or local EHS training requirements.
- Stay informed about local legislative changes and ensure compliance with site-specific permitting and other regulatory requirements, in collaboration with the Environmental Partner/Specialist and EHS Risk and Compliance Director/Partner/Specialist.
- Collaborate with Environmental personnel to manage community engagement related to environmental conditions, EHS opportunities, and initiatives, while addressing concerns.
- Develop and participate in EHS personnel engagement scheduling to enhance the skills of supervision and facility/site management, particularly regarding lead indicator programs.
- Encourage EHS personnel to engage with facility/site management through 'management interactions' for skill enhancement opportunities.
- Exhibit personal accountability for compliance with all EHS policies, procedures, and initiatives within the team.
- Manage costs in alignment with budgetary constraints and financial policies.
- Support and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to quality requirements.
- Ensure team compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to ten years of managerial experience in high-hazard industries (e.g., warehouse, manufacturing, industrial environments), with multi-site responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environment issues.
- Proven experience in implementing workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient in computer skills and the Microsoft Office Suite.
